The Mission Services Department accepts individuals on a fee-for-service model. Self-referrals are also accepted. Agencies such as Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities refer individuals for our services.
Often, the path to a job is made easier by participating in other program services designed to improve and maintain employability. While participation in a service cannot guarantee employment, commitment from the participant to do his/her best and accepting guidance from the Mission Services staff can be an asset in finding and keeping a job.
Our programs and services are individualized for each participant’s needs. Our participants work one on one with a job developer and or a job coach.
Hire a Goodwill Referral
A Goodwill referral is a person with a disability or other barrier to employment who wants to work. Our services are designed to ensure individuals are well matched to the job, therefore achieving success in the workplace.
Funding is available from various agencies to assist employers with training, job coaches, workplace modifications and more. Employers who hire Goodwill referrals set a higher standard in the community, as they are dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities or other barriers become self-sufficient through employment.
Summer Youth Program
The goal of the Summer Youth Program is to provide youth (ages 16-24) valuable work experience while earning a paycheck to help meet basic needs. The summer employment program offers the opportunity for youth to develop a work history and have a current reference from an employer. Goodwill is responsible for placing the youth at job-sites, as well as providing training, job coaching and mentoring.
The program continues to be a strong employment program for our youth as well as a great opportunity for local businesses. It provides businesses additional summer help and lets them evaluate and observe the youth before a potential job offer.
